Replacing fossil-based plastics with biodegradable materials
made from renewable resources is a key step to shaping a sustainable future. Utilizing wood fibers from renewable forest to replace plastics presents both technological and economical challenges. Biofiber Tech is developing new and cost-competitive technologies in collaboration with both forest industry and plastic industry partners
Based on Biofiber Tech's key background technology concept, the Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova has granted an innovation project within the programme framework "Challenge Driven Innovation Step II" where Biofiber Tech is working as a key technology developer and integrator together with top Swedish research institutions: Swerea SICOMP, RISE Processum, and several well-known industry enterprises such as Sveaskog, Holmen, Orthex, Inxide, PODCOMP, Plastkonsult Ostvik and NEVS(National Electric Vehicle Sweden).
